Willie Nelson featured on MySpace
As previously mentioned (so many times), Willie Nelson and his music know no boundaries. So it was no big surprise when I saw the man on the front page of the youthful social media site MySpace last week, promoting his new album American Classic, with an interview and clips from a live performance of Willie jamming at Charlie’s Bar in Paia with indie rockers Band of Horses.
In his interview with Quddus, Willie doesn’t break any new ground, but we get to see the poker table at his Hawaiian home. I would bet many fortunes have been won and lost at this table. Willie appears about halfway in, after The Used’s cooking session and a promo for Boys Like Girls.
Willie does hit a common theme with his music, however, “overloading the system” with four new releases in a typical year. He mentions a Leon Russell record in the can and a T Bone Burnett-produced bluegrass session scheduled for September 10 and his current release American Classic.
Just goes to show, we need a new system!
