One of the great vaudevillians I was lucky to be exposed to on various tv shows through the 70s was Carl Ballantine, also known as The Great Ballantine. He was a good magician, but a great comedian. He was a big influence on Steve Martin and countless others, appeared on numerous shows including as a regular on McHale’s Navy.
