The Hush Now

Recently, I heard from The Hush Now, a band from Massachusetts who found my link on Bruce Warren’s page Some Velvet Blog. That’s a sneaky but savvy way to find me! Of course I am proud to be recommended by Bruce, and having listened to The Hush Now album a few times with pleasant results, I am now posting about them for your entertainment, etc.

One of The Hush Now’s most impressive credentials were having “played several radio sessions including at MIT and The College of New Jersey” and had been played by BBC’s Steve Lamacq. That they didn’t list WMBR and WTSR by name will be forgiven.

From The Hush Now:

“My name is John Charpentier and I play guitar in the Boston-based indie-pop group The Hush Now. After releasing our debut full-length in the fall, we are currently booking shows on the east coast while we finish recording a follow-up. Our CD-release show sold out popular Boston rock club T.T. The Bear’s Place and in the short time since the band’s conception we’ve licensed tracks to NBC television, played several radio sessions including at MIT and The College of New Jersey, and garnered blog buzz and radio play from legendary BBC6 DJ Steve Lamacq. In addition, our record debuted in the CMJ Top 100 upon its release last fall. We are very excited about the future and we hope you might take a listen to check us out and, if you feel so inclined, maybe feature us on your excellent site! Please find links below to our MySpace, electronic press kit over at Sonicbids, and our entire debut album for free download. John & The Hush Now”
