No I haven’t actually mailed the albums to Washington. The program All Songs Considered, a regular feature on NPR, is vital for recommending music, but they are also making consistent efforts to “gather” us listeners together as a “NPR Community.” The story “Vinyl: The New CD,” is a fun activity and also provides some connectivity for the listeners.
All Songs Considered asked listeners to submit pictures of their vinyl collections to a page on Flickr. Mine are here but also on that page. So far only 20 pictures up there but this must be a fraction of the number of people who hear about it online or over the air and will look at their site.
My Flickr page includes a lot of pictures from Jamaica, including Peter Tosh’s tomb.
