Our pal Shelby Lynne recently appeared on the Kennedy Center Honors program, where she teamed with honoree George Jones for “Amazing Grace.” The television special will air on December 30, and features honorees Jones; Twyla Tharp; Morgan Freeman; Barbra Streisand; Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey (representing The Who — and they’d better recognize Keith Moon and John Entwistle!). I heard a few clips on Howard of the Foo Fighters and Beyoncé singing covers. Should be a great show, hopefully there won’t be too many W. applause shots.
