I just wish that Freedom Fighters from the past were here to see this week’s events. MLK, James Brown, John Coltrane, Jackie Robinson, Rosa Parks, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Muddy Waters, Miles Davis and especially President Obama’s parents are people I wish were going to be in DC this week.

Good luck to President Obama! It feels good just typing it.

Is Nelson Mandela coming through? Hopefully Sidney Poitier and Berry Gordy and some other important “transformational” figures from the 60s will be around. There are SO many people who dreamed of this moment!

I wonder what Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan and Joan Baez, icons from my personal involvement in the anti-war/civil rights movements of the sixties will be doing on Tuesday. Shouldn’t Annie Liebovitz be photographing them watching tv?
