John Martyn, the influential and supremely mellow singer, has left us. He was one of the mainstays of Island Records and I send my vibes all who knew him and loved his music.

The NY Times obituary that mentioned a very interesting fact, that his song “I Couldn’t Love You More” was covered by one of my favorites, Sade. Below is a performance where his influence on my queen is pretty evident in the “vocal style.”
