WERS, Boston: Earbender Playlist of the Week #22

WERS Boston

There are very few college radio stations with as many listeners as WERS, Boston. Like any of the other “urban-based” outlets, WERS has retained many djs after graduation, which tends to build continuity in philosophy and programming. As a result, they are a force in everything from hip hop to acoustic folk. And the place is pretty nice inside (the photo above is taken from their architect’s page!).

Hope everyone’s having a good week so far. I know I sure am. Last Thursday night I got to catch Animal Collective at the House of Blues and boy was that a good show. Every time I’ve seen them live they always blow me away.

The station has been busy as well. We had both Paul Roberts of The Stranglers and Jesse Murphy, formerly of the Brazilian Girls, in for some live in-studios. They both played some fantastic sets!

Now, I’m looking forward to the long Memorial Day weekend! Hope’s it brings everyone great fun!

Best,
