Here’s a bit of flavor from the new Paul McCartney live album “Good Evening New York City,” filmed/recorded at CitiField in Flushing last summer. It was a great show and I have heard from several of my people that the recording quality is outstanding. The music/performance were pretty excellent from my cheap seats next to the stage.

Every time I hear this song now, I think of the version where John Lennon chimes in after the first line Paul sings (“I’ve got a feeling…”): “good.” It’s hard to tell if he’s being sarcastic or commenting on the quality of Paul’s performance/opening line. As intensely serious and high-minded as Lennon got, he always had jokes.

Anyhow, this one’s going out to Marty the Cop, a law-abiding resident of Outlaw Country.

Don’t forget the DVD includes the Letterman marquee performance too.
